Description
The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Copenhagen, Denmark. The statue depicts a mermaid sitting on a rock, looking out over the sea.
The statue was inspired by the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. In the story, a mermaid sacrifices her tail and her voice to become human in order to be with a prince.
