Nuruosmaniye Mosque – built from 1748 to 1755

Description

The Nuruosmaniye Mosque is a 18th-century Ottoman mosque in Istanbul. It is the first mosque in the city to be built in the Baroque style and is a popular tourist destination.

• The mosque has a floor area of 13,000 square meters and a dome with a diameter of 31 meters.
• The mosque has four minarets, each of which is 76 meters high.
• The interior of the mosque is decorated with 140 columns of black and white marble.
• The mosque has a library with a collection of religious books and manuscripts.
