About Tomislav Perazić
Tomislav Perazić was a renowned academic painter who passed away on March 21, 2019, at the age of 85. He was particularly well-known and esteemed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Life and Career: Born in Montenegro, he spent most of his life and artistic career in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana and, since 1964, was a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Perazić was known for his realistic depictions, particularly of industrial workers and landscapes. He created an extensive body of work about the “Željezara” (ironworks) in Zenica, portraying the people and the work in this factory. His works were exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
- Style and Themes: His style was often described as socialist realism, as he frequently dealt with social themes and the lives of workers. In addition to his industrial paintings, he also created landscapes, often inspired by the nature of his homeland.
- Awards: Perazić received numerous awards for his artistic work, including the “Dvanaestoaprilska nagrada Zenice” (12th of April Prize of Zenica) in 1979 and 1999.
A treasured piece from the gallery’s private collection
This painting was part of the inaugural exhibition of Tomislav Perazić’s “Mediterranean and Mimosa” series, which was curated by MerisCon ARTDesign in 2016. As a token of appreciation for organizing this successful event, the artist gifted three paintings to the gallery, including this one.
